DESCRIPTION:Really looking forward to playing drums in the house band for the Jazz Jam at Pica Pica on Wednesday 19th February. The band will be a trio that includes Mark Hurrell on saxophone and Adrián Filip on bass. \nMark comes from the UK and has recently been undertaking a Master’s degree associated with the elite music program NOMAZZ (a joint initiative between the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus\, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm). Previously\, he studied at some of the UK’s most respected establishments and has played at top jazz clubs in London such as Ronnie Scotts\, 606 jazz club and Pizza Express. \nAdrián comes from Slovakia and is completing a Master’s degree with RAMA (the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus). Adrián has played across Europe and in various settings including the band Groove Junction who performed at the Aarhus Jazz Festival. \nThe trio will perform an opening set of tunes by Thelonius Monk\, Joe Henderson and Freddie Hubbard. This will be followed by an open jam session. Hope to see you there!
